Grief & Loss Work

Life is a constant state of change.  With every change, we are gaining something and losing something.  Some of us have been impacted deeply by these changes, and sometimes we wonder why we are reacting so strongly to a loss.

In Western culture, the process of grieving is often minimized or constrained by expectations of "getting on with life", resulting in a tendency for losses to be ineffectively mourned.  This can lead to a pattern of cumulative grieving deficiencies, which may result in extreme emotion around another loss.

In grief and loss therapy, storytelling and meaning making facilitate effective mourning.  Through this therapeutic process, one may also gain deep gratitude for the present, as well as self awareness and acceptance.
